Hey Ranger! Today we’re learning: Bats are flying through complete darkness — and never crashing. 🦇 How?! It’s called ECHOLOCATION. Today you’ll be a bat. Send out sound waves and find your dinner.

Mission Brief

Ranger, there’s a bird out there that’s almost impossible to see — it sits perfectly still on the ground and looks exactly like a pile of dead leaves! But you’ll definitely hear it. The nightjar has one of the most famous calls in the African bush. Your mission is to learn how these masters of disguise survive the night — and to crack the code of their mysterious song.
