Why don’t you float off into space right now? The answer is GRAVITY! It’s an invisible force that pulls everything towards Earth’s centre. Gravity keeps us on the ground, keeps the Moon orbiting around us, and keeps Earth orbiting around the Sun. Without gravity, there’d be no ‘down’, everything would drift away into space. It’s like Earth is constantly giving everything a big hug and saying, ‘Stay here with me!’ Pretty amazing, right?
