Summative HHH Research
The assignment must be set out in an itinerary format i.e. what historical sites will you take your guests to when you are in your area of operation. I believe its very important to compile a research assignment that will assist the learner in better understanding the area where they will do their practical assessments.
Looking at all the various EcoTraining camps there is lots to research from the Drakensberg mountains connected to the SAN, their paintings & stone tools. To the movement of the Nguni people, especially the Shangaan. This can link into all the Stone Age & Iron Age Sites. The more recent history of the Voortrekkers and the Anglo-Boar war. Also, the rich history of the Kruger and surrounding areas like Pilgrims Rest, Mariepskop, Blyde River Canyon etc.You need to research an area of historical Human habitation Eg a iron age sight like Thulamela and incorporate it into an itinerary that you are taking guests on remember to include lots of info on the area as if you were taking them on a guided tour of the site
