📌 Your mission
  1. Plan your safari. Choose your ‘reserve’ — your garden, a park, or your street. Pick a calm time (early morning or late afternoon are best, just like real game drives). Tell an adult where you’re going.
  2. Move like a ranger. Walk slowly and quietly. Stop often. Look up (trees, roofs), down (grass, holes) and all around. Use your ears too — rustles, squeaks and scratches are all clues.
  3. Log every mammal. For each mammal you see OR find evidence of (fur, tracks, droppings, burrows, chewed food), write in your logbook: what, where, what it was doing, and the time.
  4. Use ALL your skills. For each mammal, note: is it a grazer or browser? Where is it on the food chain? Does it eat insects? You’re using everything you learned this whole module!
  5. Count your species. Add up how many different mammals (or mammal signs) you found. That’s your safari species count — real rangers keep exactly these lists to protect wildlife.
  6. Earn your badge. Found and logged 3 or more mammals or signs? You’ve completed the Mighty Mammals module — you’re officially a Mammal Master! Sign and date your logbook, Ranger.
Ranger TipThe best safaris are slow. Sit still in one spot for five quiet minutes and watch what comes to you — you’ll see far more than by rushing around.
Keep GoingA safari is never really finished. Keep your logbook and add to it all year — that’s how real conservationists track the wild around them.
